ABOUT THE ARTIST
Max Muller is a 23-year-old guitarist currently living in Berlin where he started his bachelor degree in Classical Guitar at the University of the Arts under Professor Thomas Müller-Pering. Since October of this year, Max has been studying under Professor Marco Tamayo. The focus of his interpretational work is based on original compositions for guitar from the late 19th Century to the present day, especially in music from Spain, Italy and South America. His music, therefore, is a cross-section of romance, impressionism, expressionism and the processing of folk songs and traditional themes that extend into the modern age. His work also connects at times with transcriptions and originals from the baroque repertoire. In addition to Max’s solo concerts, festivals and music competitions which have taken him to countries like Luxembourg and the USA (Texas, California), he also devotes himself to chamber music, for example in duets, in guitar quartets, and as a soloist in string quartets and orchestras. Max also gives guitar lessons and musical lectures. When he performs in concerts, Max’s goal is to excite the audience for the incredibly versatile classical guitar and to build a bond with audience members so they might escape from their mundane daily activities and simply drift and dream along with the beautiful classical music.
